RCCE students will learn security alert triage methodologies including alert classification, prioritization, enrichment, escalation, and resolution workflows. RCCE students will learn to evaluate incoming security alerts for severity and legitimacy, apply triage frameworks to consistently classify alerts, enrich alerts with contextual data from threat intelligence and asset databases, distinguish true positives from false positives, make escalation decisions based on defined criteria, document triage findings, reduce alert fatigue through improved triage processes, and measure triage effectiveness using metrics like mean time to triage and false positive rates. This essentials course covers the core knowledge needed to operate competently in this domain. Starting from foundational concepts, RCCE students will learn the fundamental concepts, terminology, risks, and defenses that form the foundation for all further study and professional practice.
